What treatments are trending at your practice?

For smoother, firmer skin, our patients love Morpheus8 and the combination of VirtueRF Microneedling and the CoolPeel laser.

Why did you add CoolSculpting to your services?

There are plenty of patients who are nervous about liposuction, so I wanted to offer a noninvasive, fat-reduction option. CoolSculpting is great for treating pockets of diet-resistant fat, especially around the midsection, love handles and bra bulge.

In what way is your practice comprehensive?

In addition to having a fully accredited on-site operating suite, I also have an all-encompassing medi-spa where patients can undergo nonsurgical services to subtly turn back time, relax and/or enhance results from a surgical procedure. One new nonsurgical treatment I offer patients is CoolSculpting, an FDA-approved, noninvasive fat reduction tool that requires no downtime. Using cryolipolysis, CoolSculpting freezes fat cells so the body can break them down and gives patients full results in about three months.

What is your approach to treating patients?

I team up with the patient to address their concerns both short- and long-term. I prefer a natural, subtle look that appears youthful, not “done.” Patients are frequently overwhelmed with the plethora of injectable products available. First I analyze the patient’s anatomy and then we discuss their aesthetic goals to come up with a treatment plan together.

What is your surgical niche?

Labiaplasty is one of the most popular procedures that I perform at my practice. Women of all ages have concerns with the look of their genital area, but may feel embarrassed and not sure where to turn. I assure patients that their concerns can be addressed in a safe and reliable manner. Patients feel more confident after labia procedures just as they do with other plastic surgery procedures.

What does a consultation with you entail?

I try to make the patient feel comfortable before we discuss the area they would like me to address. Once that is determined, I describe procedure options with the aid of a brochure or iPad. I then examine the patient and explain what I feel would be the best option to achieve their goal. Then we have a frank discussion about risks and what to expect postoperatively.

How have breast surgery trends changed over the last decade?

Women are requesting smaller implants that give more of an athletic, natural look. Patients that have had breast augmentation for more than 10 years usually want to go smaller, too. They feel the size they wanted in their 20s before kids now looks too big. Many need mastopexies as well to remove excess skin and shape the tissue around the smaller implants
What is your best advice for someone considering plastic surgery?

Begin with finding a board-certified plastic surgeon. Read patient reviews, explore their website and assess before-and-after pictures. Try to see more than one surgeon if possible. The most important thing is to be comfortable with your surgeon
What do you recommend as a first-time laser?

Younger patients benefit from the Clear + Brilliant® 1440 nm laser to boost collagen. It can be combined with intense pulsed light (IPL) to help clear pigmentation irregularities. The downtime is minimal—there may be one day of redness—and results can be seen within a month
What is the best collagen stimulating facial treatment?

Radio-frequency microneedling is one of the best collagen stimulating facial treatments around. We like to combine Vivace RF microneedling with PRP to supercharge results
How can a fat transfer enhance your facial procedures?

Fat injections help increase volume in areas that have succumbed to age-induced fat atrophy. Additionally, the fat contains growth factors that can help improve skin quality
